Welcome to our new blog page.
As you will know we opened our doors a month ago after a 3.5 week refurb. Since then you have certainly been keeping us busy!
We had a great opening evening where we saw lots of familiar faces and many new ones. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did?! The drinks were flowing from our revamped bar while everyone came in to admire our new look. A lot of effort was put in to maintain the pubs charm and character, and although we couldn't increase the floor space we hope that we have optimised it to make the best use of every bit of room we have. Our new light feature, courtesy of Be Illuminated has become the new talking point of the pub and we've had lots of lovely comments about it. We think it creates a lovely backdrop for all the wonderful musicians we've had grace our little boozer since we opened and will do for many years to come. It seems the other new favourite is our beautiful new wallpaper. Now hung, it creates a cosy atmosphere throughout the bar. We are so proud of our pub and really hope you like our new look too!
With the reopening of the pub, came a new menu from the kitchen. A twist on classics, the chefs are producing high quality, freshly cooked food for lunch everyday. We cater for every dietary need and there are delicious offerings on our lunch menu and the special board daily. Our supper club is proving more popular than ever, often booking up before the menu is released every Monday. Our innovative, Monday night menu is written on Sunday night and offers different choices every week. It's a great value night, but be sure to get in early to get a table!
Saturday now offers an exciting all day brunch menu which we serve 11am-3pm. The perfect hangover cure or just a mouth watering option for a casual Saturday lunch. Perfect with one of our wide selection of gins, chilled beer or even a bloody mary. We'll see your weekend gets off to the best start.
We've kept Sunday similar to before, with slow roast meats, fresh seasonal veg, crispy roasties, yorkies and lashings of gravy. Just the way a Sunday should be. In the pub with good company and great food. With the weather (hopefully) getting better, roasts and bar snacks are available to share in the garden.
More of you than ever attended our annual beer and music festival on bank holiday weekend. Vicfest was bigger, better and busier than ever before. We raised lots of money for this year's charity, Team Super Seraph, so THANK YOU! You drank us dry this year, which we are taking as a sign of what a great time you all had!
